Connectors for docking systems offer low contact resistance and vibration resistance

20-02-2026 | ODU Connectors | Industrial

The robust design of the ODU's ODU-MAC Silver-Line ensures >100,000 mating cycles, with stable low contact resistance and excellent vibration resistance. High reliability with numerous transmission variants: there are eight docking frames in individually configurable lengths to choose from, which can be equipped with a range of over 30 transmission modules to suit specific applications.

The optional quick‐change head variant further increases the number of possible mating cycles.

The reliable contact technology, together with the floating frame support, ensures a particularly long service life for the docking unit. Once the slide-in unit has been engaged, the ODU-MAC guidance system takes care of the fine-tuning.

Always the right solution. With the ODU-MAC Silver-Line, choose between different frames, from the smallest 'Mini' frame to the largest 'Power' frame, each having a radial alignment tolerance of between 0.6mm and 4mm.

The durable strain relief housing reliably protects the termination area. It can be combined with all ODU-MAC docking frames and is available with tailored strain-relief, cable outlets and grounding connections. If needed, PCBs and other components can be secured inside the protected housing.

There are more than 30 data transmission modules available, including

  • Ethernet/IP (up to 10Gbit/s)
  • USB (up to 10Gbit/s)
  • HDMI (up to 48Gbit/s)
  • DisplayPort (up to 40Gbit/s)
  • SPE/automotive Ethernet (up to 10Gbit/s)

The robust interfaces of the ODU-MAC Silver-Line enable transmission of pneumatics, high current and data in one connector. Due to the high number of mating cycles and the time-saving tool change, the company HMP GmbH and Co. KG installed the ODU-MAC Silver-Line P+ frame in its rotary table system for heat-staking.
